Derailment in Kentucky
Author: chessie2101

Just saw this reported on TV, no photos or video TV.

Highlights from the story:

Kentucky State Police tell WSAZ that it happened at 6:52 a.m. Thursday in the Draffin area, just outside of Elkhorn City.
KSP says U.S. 460 is shut down in both directions as a precaution in case the smoke coming from the fire is toxic.
According to reports from Pike County officials, the train engine is on fire.
According to KSP, water rescue is requested as two people maybe trapped.
The dispatcher said flames are showing and there is concern about possible hazardous material involved in the crash.
Pike County officials are reporting the derailment at Ratliff Bottom in Draffin.

Glad to hear the crew is safe.

Washout and rock-fall related derailments are among the scariest because they often involve the head end.

There's video on Facebook.  Engines are in the river(windows above water level), diesel fuel burning all around except near cab.  Article says the crew did get out and was being taken to hospital to be checked, but I don't think any serious injuries.  This is a miracle considering what the pics and video look like.
