A Pennsylvania Northeastern first
Author: GWHEN

In the beginning of 2019, Pennsylvania Northeastern (PN) purchased two SD60's numbered 8701 and 8711 from CSX. PN took delivery of these two units sometime in March of that same year. PN 8701 would become the first to enter service for the PN in September of 2019 after having minor mechanical work performed, CSX lettering painted over and PN speed lettering applied to the sides. PN 8711 however took quite a bit longer to be put into service only just entering service this month.  For the first time in Pennsylvania Northeastern history we finally have two engines in matching paint/lettering! Unfortunately this will probably mark the end of the one of a kind C39-8 #8212 that PN has on roster. Needless to say these two SD60's are quite the handsome set and hopefully will serve the PN for many years to come.
