LIRC with their Veteran pair chase
Author: srman

Yesterday the LIRC sent their veteran pair painted units north from Jeffersonville In.leading the J12A31. I live near their yard so when I heard them about to leave the chase was on. Unlike the days just a few years ago the opportunities of getting them several times between Jeffersonville and Columbus are no more. Since the upgrading from CSX its a 49mph railroad. Interstate 65 pretty much parallels the line so it helps a little. They had to work Austin and Seymour which I wasn't aware of so I was happy to catch him the three times as he moved towards Columbus. Images are at Speed In. near Sellersburg, Austin and finally at Peters Switch just north of Seymour. The 3002 was originally built for the SP as SD45 8855 while the 3001 was UP 3544. Both are now SD40-2's. Thank for looking.

Nice! That line is in better shape now than it was in PRR days!
