The SMS GE's at Night
Author: PC1073

Was privileged to partake in a small night photo session a few weeks back that featured the SMS GE's.
Of course, the railroad is known for its fleet of Baldwin locomotives, and these two are actually outcasts.
Here we go with three images from the evening.

1. Mother nature provides her own light show, before the photo shoot.
2. A recent addition to the fleet, the 1961 has been painted into a scheme
  to resemble her heritage.
3. All the way with the Santa Fe.  This was a kind of bonus, and I can't thank
the folks at SMS enough for allowing us the time for it.

Enjoy,
John R

Nice to see pug nosed GE's getting some attention.  As with Alcos, you guys back east have it much better than us folks out west.  The only pre-Dash-8 GE roadswitchers left in California are a pair of units in museums: an SP U25B at Perris and a WP U30B at Portola.

Nicely done with the night image.  Nice work by SMS on that ex Conrail B23-7.  Way to go.

Mother nature provided the best lighting in my opinion. Nicely done.

Excellent photos of these fine GEs!  What is the status of the SMS Baldwins these days?

Cheers,
Harry
