Eastern Railroad Discussion > Race of the Pan Am locals at Ayer, MADate: 01/15/21 11:54 Race of the Pan Am locals at Ayer, MA Author: JPB On the right on main 1, Pan Am Southern local AY-Relief led by faux CSX C40-8 MEC 7622 is pulling four 5-pack wells loaded with containers full of Massachusetts' finest trash out of the so-called Arrowhead loading facility (ie, the old CSX Ford unloading yard at Ayer, MA. Arrowhead is the name of the Alabama landfill where the trash will be unloaded). Meanwhile, "charging" down main 2 is Pan Am blue C40-8 MEC 7523 pulling a lengthy cut of empty auto racks.
The trash containers may get forwarded to NS at Mechanicville by the 23K single stack train departing Ayer this afternoon. And the racks will likely be dragged to E Deerfield by tomorrow's POED manifest where they'll be placed on the 11R train to Binghamton. You must be a registered subscriber to watch videos.
