The form is incomplete since it's missing the TRUE NS heritage unit, #1700. Erie Lackawanna. That gets my vote.

I vote for the SOU SD40 from a few years ago. I forget the number.

That would be SOU 3170.  It is here in Chattanooga at the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum with a blown generator.  It is a display piece only, at least for now.  I'd love to see that one back out running, even just in local runs around Chattanooga.

After seeing this one several times in the past couple of months, I can honestly say it is THE most authentic of the bunch...
 

The Wabash unit.

it should have read of the following Heritage  unit is your favorite. i say     PENNSYLVANIA

For me it would have to be a tie between the Southern and the Savannah & Atlanta. 

For me the favorite is still the stand alone original one.  It was a humble little engine that could travel down all lines for people to see and not really missed if it was on display.  It worked in all kinds of service.  It honored a railroads 100th anniversary and its Engineers.  It was painted to look good, rather than be stone prototypical.  In its time, many people, even whole families, enjoyed seeing it on display and enjoyed getting a tour through a real engine.  It was a GP59 - the Southern 4610.

I have three actually.

First up the 8098. Most on here know why this one is number 1 but for those that don't here's a simple word to spell it out-dad. My father was and still is a buge Conrail fan to this day, and he's the one that got me into this hobby.

Number two is the 8100. That is for my high school friends late grandfather who worked 42 years on the NKP.

Third will shock you but it's the 1072. This is for a fellow cook and long time fiend whose grandfather modeled the actual John Deere tractors a very long ti.e ago.

And yes I've seen all three in person. Caught the CR and the NKP on back to back days. I cried like a baby when I had seen the Conrail. Reminded me of when my dad took me trackside growing up in Oak Harbor, Ohio at CD 266, NS Chicago Line.

Almost true... Needs to be renumbered 3669...

I voted for the Wabash unit, but, as another poster mentioned, my real favorite is the 1700.
