(Lake State) Author: EL833 On my way to an event up at Sault Ste Marie, Michigan I paid a quick visit to the Lake State Railway in Saginaw, Michigan. A goal was to try and see their "new" former UP SD70M units. I only had a short time to devote to finding these that morning, but within 10 minutes of arriving at the crossing west of their offices horns were heard across the Saginaw River. The bridge was already down and in short order a train passed through the bridge- with the new 6432/6431 pair. They look sharp, still clean with their Metro East Industries (in E St Louis) applied paint job. They yarded the train and took the power to the service tracks. All photos in Saginaw, Michigan, 06-22-2022.
