Ethanol LHF Style
Author: mtzctrain

Last week, on September 1st, the Decatur & Eastern Illinois Railroad (DREI) moved an empty ethanol unit train out of Decatur IL to Tuscola IL for storage. Powering the train was a set of SD-40s running long hood forward.

Attached photos were taken east of Decatur in the small village of Casner.
I'll attach a video soon.

Here's the video. One thing to note is that recently, WATCO has placed small DREI decals on the locomotive nose. Wish they were as big as the side decals, but better than the blank yellow nose.
The area around Casner is under a slow order, thus the slow train speed. Back when CSX owned the line, this area always seemed to have slow orders and work going on due to a soft sub-roadbed and low water level in the area.
