A number of old Illinois Central depots still stand today, even as trains of Canadian National pass by.  A case in point is at Pesotum, Illinois, south of Champaign and Tolono on the Champaign Subdivision.

I decided to two-lane it for a while on my way home from Railroad Days at Monticello today, and was rewarded when C.N. had a northbound lined up for a meet at Tolono.  What better place to catch it than by the old Pesotum station?
