Eastern Railroad Discussion > CSX 6509 former Georgia RailroadDate: 01/29/23 13:33 CSX 6509 former Georgia Railroad Author: srman Thanks to TO member csxt4568 last week of informing me that CSX GP40-3 6509 was the former Georgia Railroad 756 when I heard CSX local Y129 having it as a leader today I went out to check it out. Built in December 1972 the Georgia RR only had two GP40-2's which unlike many other 40-2's that CSX has makes it sort of unique. Granted it looks nothing like it did having been rebuilt now as a GP40-3. Anyway it was a short chase since the track Y129 runs on is only a half mile from where I live .Plus its nice that someone labeled it as to its heritage with the Georgia emblems. These are in Jeffersonville Indiana.

We have a number of units adorned with legacy logos...no full on heritage liveries...but time may tell. Date: 01/31/23 14:04 Re: CSX 6509 former Georgia Railroad Author: bodkin6071 |
