Death of the Monon
Author: P

Apparently, the rails are in the process of coming out from New Albany, IN going north. I don't have photos, but saw some on another site.
The intent is to develop a trail which hopefully I can ride someday.

Very sad to lose this line, but a trail is the next best option. Would be nice if they could leave the ancillary railroad items in place such as signal masts, etc as that stuff makes riding the trail infinitely more interesting.

The Monon Route on MSTS/Open Rails is one of my favorite routes to run in that sim. Growing up in Illinois I didn't know much about the Monon, but it has been fun to learn more of it's history

When they converted a former railroad to trail near my home, they sterilized it so well you would never have know a railroad existed.
It is a great trail to ride a bike, very easy grades, but disappointing scenery as a railfan. Not even a concrete foundation from a signal to be found.

Hello, Go. Would that be the Pennsy on the Spring City side?
