The Russian, Chinese, North Korean, and Iranian regimes are decidedly a new "axis," targeting the United States and its Allies. This crap is only going to get worse.

There was plenty of ignorance displayed by U.S. broadcast media.

And as I told people at work many times during the terrorist fear porn era,
foreign actors would never attack the U.S. railroad system.  They would not
interfere with the great job railroad management was doing to destroy U.S.
railroads.

American cable news commentators and talk radio hosts were busy splitting this country apart years before foreign states got involved with trying to undermine things online.

I find the title of this article to be misleading, at best. This article's storyline of a third party claiming Twitter accounts to be purveyors of Russian influence sounds similar to the story involving Hamilton 68 in Part 14 of the "Twitter Files." https://mobile.twitter.com/mtaibbi/status/1613589031773769739. I acknowledge that the AP writer of the "Pro-Moscow voices" article did name one actual, verifiable (I could look it up myself) pro-Russian Twitter account, Donbass Devushka (in the Twitter Files Part 14 story, Twitter execs checked out all of the Twitter accounts alleged by Hamilton 68 to be Russian accounts and found that none of them were Russian accounts). Oddly, the attempt to "steer the debate" by Donbass Devushka was omitted from the article. This is why I find the article's title misleading, if not flat out false: only one pro-Moscow Twitter account, verifiable by someone reading this article, is mentioned in the article, yet their action regarding discussion of the East Palestine derailment is not provided.

From the third paragraph of the article:

Some of the claims pushed by the pro-Russian accounts were verifiably false, such as the suggestion that the news media had covered up the disaster

When I first read about in other sources that some were saying that the media were covering up the East Palestine disaster, I knew that such claims were false as I learned about it through reports on several media outlets.  When a Trainorders member made a similar claim, I pushed back.

The stories that American mainstream media covers up while making up or hyping up other stories based on their political preferences is FAR more damaging to our country than anything that foreign media or social media accounts could ever be.

Take your general beef with with the media somewhere else, pal.

You haven't refuted my post with any facts about media coverage of the derailment.

Relying on just one source of information, or information from just one side of the spectrum is always going to give a limited view of a broader situation.  Whether it's the attack on the capitol / peaceful visit by tourists who were attacked by police, or cram down of the rail union contract / reasonable agreement for all parties, a careful thinker needs multiple, conflicting points of view. And then time to think about them.

"Main stream media" and "right wing hate radio" are both cheap cop outs and evidence of lazy thinking.  Just my one point of view, of course.
