Rare to see the CN RoadRailer in daylight

...east of Toronto that is.

Don't know the reason...weather, equipment or other problems...but this is CN train #183, the westbound Montreal-Toronto RoadRailer about to cross Concession 1 (Metcalf St) in Newcastle, ON at 14:50 on Jan 16th, 2004. On a normal day this train would have been by this location around 12 hours earlier!

I was out looking for CP re-routes on account of the fatal bridge accident in Whitby, ON ( line still closed as of my posting this.) The last thing I expected was the RoadRailer. I've seen #183 in daylight on a couple of occasions when going to work in the morning, but never this late.

No sign of CP re-routes during the time I spent trackside today :( but I did see a CP #153 tied up at Lovekin with grade crossing cut. It has probably been there since the accident on Wednesday.

Love that design on the trailers! Can blame the CN for keeping the good power up north either.

Nice catch, I miss seeing them run 144/145 thru Michigan.

Well the still do, but its all TripleCrown cars on it, and it only goes from Port Huron to Detroit. It also runs an odd timetable, but when summer comes, you can normally catch both directions in the Daylight hours.

Oops your right Telus, I forgot that they use those symbol's on the TC trains. I do still miss the CN roadrailers running thru Durand.
