Correction, as of 2:30pm did not depart yet out of Cumberland. There is a G366 grain train arriving there about now with 2 UP SD70M's trailing a CSX GP40-2. Train is a grain train for Fayetteville,NC from Indiana detoured this way due to the wreck a few days ago on the river line and the congestion they are dealing with there right now.

Grain Trains re-routed via Cumberland around such incidents as a wreck (or James River flood) between Clifton Forge and Richmond, VA, that are enroute to the Carolinas, DO USE the D.C.-Richmond former RF&P. These trains would re-crew at Cumberland, MD (and also maybe Brunswick, if there's B&O line-congestion), and Richmond-Acca. Then they proceed south on the former A-line.

Destinations of CSX Grain Trains that come through Richmond on either CSX route (B&O-RF&P or C&O-SCL) are usually:

Fayettville, NC on the A-line,

Laurinburg, NC - between Pembroke and Hamlet,

Nashville, NC (east of Rocky Mount on the Nash County short line),

Norfolk, VA (via the Weldon, NC cut-off route & up through Franklin, VA,

or the feed-grain sites in the Clinton, NC region (on the old Wilmington line south from Wilson, NC).

CSX might also have occassional Grain Trains coming southward to some of these destinations from Michigan, and those would normally use the Cumberland-Richmond-Rocky Mount (former B&O-RF&P-SCL) routing.
