TCS - tho ain't used such a star brand yet ... Date: 06/08/07 15:12 Re: Paint Survey Author: CNW I use Polly Scale. I have no idea how it works on brass since I have no brass models in my collection.

Scalecoat II for Plastic Cabin Date: 06/08/07 16:57 Re: Paint Survey Author: ESPEE5318 Scalecoat I for Brass (don't do much brass but if I did)
Scalecoat II for Plastic (never had a problem) Joe Date: 06/08/07 20:38 Re: Paint Survey Author: 1802 Scalecoat I for Brass & Scalecoat II for Plastic. Excellent paint, excellent coverage - beautiful gloss finish easy to decal on. I use Floquil to weather & Testors Dullcoat to seal.
Jeff Date: 06/08/07 20:44 Re: Paint Survey Author: ATSF-Freak Scalecoat 1 or 2.
No acrylic, it's all crap. Date: 06/09/07 08:29 Re: Paint Survey Author: brfriedm I would of agreed with you years ago but not anymore. Been shooting Floquil Arcylic's for 5 years now and I really see no difference. I was a loyal Scalecoat man for years. I really switched because I wanted to be more environmentally friendly. The first 2 years had their ups and downs but in the last 3 years, the paint looks great. Covers well and self levels nicely. The only color that does not cover well is white. Clean up with water is very easy to get used to and I use distilled water to thin. Recently, I painted 2 Overland brass units with Poly. I actually started with Scalecoat I but did not like the finish and stripped the unit and reshot with Poly and it looked much better. I'm Ok with whatever anyone uses but I think your statement below that all acrylics are bad is very off base.
Good luck. Bruce ATSF-Freak Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Scalecoat 1 or 2. > > No acrylic, it's all crap. Date: 06/09/07 13:01 Re: Paint Survey Author: keysubdiv I swear by Poly-Scale acrylics onto a sandblasted surface. Dried using a cheap hair-dryer. Testor`s acrylic flat, gloss and semi-gloss for the clear coats. Microscale decals absolutely burn into the Testor`s glosscoat. Not to start a war, but to me Scale-coat is crap. I`m not really convinced that it actually ever dries completely. The acrylics stand up much better to handling.

According to the Testor's website, there is no listing for FLOQUIL brand acrylic paint. They do list Poly Scale as the acrylic equivalent. Is this the paint you are referring to? Rick Date: 06/11/07 14:03 Re: Paint Survey Author: brfriedm Yes.
