Model Railroading > Athearn SD40T-2sDate: 10/07/07 18:46 Athearn SD40T-2s Author: lizzard_45 How do you find their running? They don't M.U. well with the SD50s, nor the RTR GP40s.
Anyone else find them a little disappointing? Paul H. Liddiard Date: 10/07/07 19:03 Re: Athearn SD40T-2s Author: dnuck They are (they're) ........... running fine!

Date: 10/07/07 21:01 Re: Athearn SD40T-2s Author: sbgabe I did find that my 45-2 Genesis does not quite run at the same speed as the 40-2 RTR. The RTR has the older style motor and the Genesis has a newer.
Date: 10/07/07 21:03 Re: Athearn SD40T-2s Author: atsf5704 They seem to work fine with GP35's, GP40X's, SD40's, SD40-2's, SD45T-2's, and SD38 (I only have one operational - a McCloud River unit, the DM&IR units are still on the back burner).
The SD45-2's are faster (in DCC) than all of the above. Date: 10/08/07 05:46 Re: Athearn SD40T-2s Author: ESPEEFAN Does anyone know when Athearn will put out a post gyro-light and L shaped window T-motor in both SP and SSW?
Date: 10/08/07 05:48 Re: Athearn SD40T-2s Author: SP3800 Mine run fine. No problems. I wish Athearn would do the early version with the 116" snoot nose.
Yours, John Date: 10/08/07 15:05 Re: Athearn SD40T-2s Author: lizzard_45 I seem to have found one that doesn't run so well then. The other two that I got seem to run fine and work well with others.
I'll open it up and have a poke around. Thanks for the input. They are [they're] very well detailed, but their running characteristics leave a bit to be desired. Paul Date: 10/09/07 03:12 Re: Athearn SD40T-2s Author: chessiegp39 I have the same problem with one of the SD45T-2's. I have 3 of them and 1 won't run properly at all. A real lemon. Is there a lemon law for these things? (lol)
