PT Smith Date: 11/26/08 21:17 Re: HO Red Caboose Centerbeams? Author: XSP8286W Oh my... I could use a few dozen of those!... give me the skinny wongster!
Date: 11/28/08 15:56 Re: HO Red Caboose Centerbeams? Author: rschonfelder I always wonder why Red Caboose develops the design and tooling work for one scale only. Their autoracks should be done in HO and I would be there for it. Must be too afraid of Walthers.
Rick Date: 11/28/08 16:00 Re: HO Red Caboose Centerbeams? Author: brfriedm They are afraid of the price. Claiming a list price of $49.95 if he does the racks in HO.(lots of see through etched metal panels) There are plenty of people pushing him but he feels they will not sell at that price and he will get burned on tooling and inventory.

I didn't know Harry came in the slimmed down version! <g> ~~~ Date: 11/28/08 18:25 Re: HO Red Caboose Centerbeams? Author: TCnR Where is the announcement? Just checked the RC website and the only 'new release' I see is for the bulkhead flat cars. Any info on prototype C-Beam?

I guess that goes back to a solid unsubstantiated rumor again, maybe. This one's been going around for a while and other projects keep coming out. Where's the HO C-Beam? Or what length? Haven't heard those rumors at all. Went digging for released info and found this: http://www.ho-scaletrains.net/id37.html about a quarter of the way down it describes the Red Caboose Bulkhead flat as a 73ft TTx style, sounds like a Roundhouse reduex, probably correct though. Definitely not what the SP rumor mill had in mind. Mmmm, where'd I put those Bruce's Trains cast resin cars... Date: 11/29/08 10:26 Re: HO Red Caboose Centerbeams? Author: WAF Yes, disappointing no SP bulkhead flats
Date: 11/29/08 11:13 Re: HO Red Caboose Centerbeams? Author: XSP8286W According to RC via email that I recieved twice from someone at the company, they are still working on the tooling for the SP F-70-10 welded side flatcar. Perfect for SP Modelers in the 80's. One of the most common SP Flats!
Hope the truth stands! PT Smith Date: 11/29/08 12:32 Re: HO Red Caboose Centerbeams? Author: WAF Sure hope so.
Date: 11/29/08 12:59 Re: HO Red Caboose Centerbeams? Author: TCnR I like this rumor better.

Tough times right now but there is a large fraternity who prefer quality and would go for these versions. They would have sold better before your housing loan crisis which has plummeted the world into the soft smelly stuff lying on the blades of the fan and all around it. Refer to my other recent post. By putting them into three packs you are targeting those who would have bought them anyway.
