Any N-Scale Oil Loading platform/facilities
Author: jkchubbes

On my layout I plan on having a oil facility but I cant seem to find anyplace that has the transfer facility like you see at refineries and such. I know Walthers made such a thing in HO but I havnt seen anything like it in N.

hey jk, here are some of what i use on my n-scale petroleum facility:

1. walthers (cornerstone series) "north island refinery" #933-3219

2. walthers (cornerstone series) "oil tank" #933-3223

i have also found some "built up" oil production related stuff in hobby stores. i would get a walthers catalog and have a look......

Does the refinery have a loading/unliading facility. I cant tell from the picture on walthers site.

No one makes tank car loading facilities. Traincat does a platform in a brass kit, It is an issue I've been doing a lot of thinking about because I need one that will work for 6 modern 50' tank cars (down the middle, 3 on each side) and it is looking like I am going to have to scratchbuild...hence my thinking hard about this...how do you go get pictures in today's paranoid environment.

i also use these walthers (all cornerstone series) models:

1. "interstate fuel and oil" #933-2300 (includes a loading rack)

2. "service track structures" #933-3206 (could also be used as a petroleum loading rack)

i have all of these and am very pleased with them but i am NOT serious structure modeler as most of my structures are "built-ups." hope this helps.....
