High Sierra Hobbies in Reno, Nevada
Author: Infern0

Good news for us High Sierrians, HIGH SIERRA HOBBIES will NOT close its doors. Dave (employee) says 95% sure it'll stay open. Everything is still pending in escrow. New stock should be showing up in a few days.

From what I hear, the new owner is a model railroader who is very much into DCC. Perfect timing for me as this is the year I add DCC sound to my steam engines. I am very pleased I won't have to go to Sacramento to buy my trains. - Nevin

The new owner is German with some Visa issues. I hope our government allows this man to stay. Seems he can not have a Visa for more than 3 months at a time but if he was to buy a business it would be permanent. Don't even get me started on todays immigration tactics practiced by this so called.....nevermind. (biting my tongue...)

I've had VISA issues but I hope to get them paid off, at any rate, previous owner Mr. Harper and
I had an Aussie buddy who wanted to come over and start a business and never could get a Visa.
Comment about immigration issues is well taken, we're overrun with people with nothing but
needs and no abilities and the vice versa is kept out as if having the Plague.
