Not to nitpick, but the classification of the locomotives is spelled "Mallet".

They were acutally "simple" articulated locomotives. The SP heads of the day called them Mallets or Malleys, albit incorectly. As said, they were known generically as "malleys" (thus the use of the lower-case "m"), despite the fact that they were not actual Mallet locomotives. Nice. The 40 some cars gives the visual effect to me that it could have been a 100 cars.

Bruce Date: 01/29/11 15:31 Re: I'll have 2 malleys, 41 reefers and a caboose, plea Author: bxmoore Bruce, the locomotives are re-motored second-run IM, and the reefers are from the usual sources: IM, Red Caboose, Branchline, Trix, Accurail, Athearn, etc. Most have separate grabs etc, but I've no problems in mixing in some Athearns. One thing I try to ensure is that they each have unique numbers. The weathering is a combination of airbrushing and powders.
