More 1.6 inch scale Alco FA's
Author: Panamerican99

It was a rainy meet yesterday but 5 of the 6 Alco FA's built by Bill Koster and 5 others were in attendance. I got shots of the U. P. and SAL units as well as my L&N 322. But the other two stayed inside the shed.

The new Mars light just added to the L&N unit works great. It really lights up the trees at night.

Here are a pair of FA's (A and B unit actually) at the Southwestern Live Steamers in Texas that I hang with.

Very nice Argyle, are they from Rail Systems?

Nice photos and nice engines. Is there a reason many 1.6 diesels don't have windows/windshields? It would certainly make them look better, I was just curious if there was some reason why they can't provide them with the kits.

My guess would be that it reduces the flow of air to the air-cooled engines under the hood. My switcher doesn't have them either.

Also, it would be real easy to break them in the operating environment we work with in 1.6" scale.

I believe that is correct, Rail Systems.
Tom will correct me if I am wrong.
