Model Railroading > Bachmann HO GP7Date: 07/08/12 05:25 Bachmann HO GP7 Author: LandN1971 Are they any opinion on type of motor
used on the Bachmann GP-7 ???? Also, does anybody have any pictures of the motor and frame ???? Thanks JLSeale Date: 07/08/12 07:36 Re: Bachmann HO GP7 Author: navarch1 The GP7's run very smoothly and can creep very well - ditto the RS3's and the S4's.I own a few of each and for the money they are well worth it as a starting point to detail. The motors are smooth enough that they SEEM like they are 5 pole can motors.
Unfortunately I have no pictures from the decoder installation, but here is a motor/flywheel picture. This is the Bachmann parts site, and scroll down to see the motor. http://estore.bachmanntrains.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=66_68_188 Bob Edited 1 time(s). Now if they will come out w/ Santa Fe pin stripe versions and how about a S-2 version also.

Didn't pay any attention to the box saying it was one because my Santa Fe is numbered 2876 a GP7 #. But looking at the louvers it's definitely a 9. So it should have been in the 700 or 2900 series from Bachmann. And have already changed all 6 #s to be different from my friends!
