Can't find freight cars with built dates before 1960. Looked at different hobby shops and on line, but only car numbers are shown, not built dates.

Prehaps a bit of research will tell you when certain cars were built. Cars built after 1960 are very distinctive from cars built before 1960. Besides, the built date on sides of cars is often erroneous.

InterMountain offers numerous pieces of rolling stock with pre-1960 built dates. Most of the built dates are listed on the website for each individual car. If you find one that doesn't have a built date, you can send them an e-mail and they'll tell you and get it up on the website.
