Model Railroading > TrainFest 2012 New Product AnnouncementsDate: 11/06/12 21:49 TrainFest 2012 New Product Announcements Author: Tony_Cook Beginning this Friday evening, I'll be posting new product announcements from Milwaukee's TrainFest 2012 ( http://www.trainfest.com/ ).
Some neat stuff will be announced. Know at least one of the new diesels will be very exciting to many HO-scale modelers and has been discussed and requested in the past. Will tell you now, I have not heard of an EMD SDP40F, nor a GE U25C. Sorry, but there is some cool stuff that will be announced! I'll post the new items to: http://www.modelrailroadnews.com/news.html and here on TrainOrders. Thanks, Tony Cook, editor Model Railroad News http://www.modelrailroadnews.com Date: 11/07/12 00:27 Re: TrainFest 2012 New Product Announcements Author: rschonfelder Tony_Cook Wrote:

If it's not another F7, it won't be worth reporting. Larry Date: 11/07/12 11:20 Re: TrainFest 2012 New Product Announcements Author: TCnR I'm holding out for the highly detailed HO scale RTR 50 foot $100 boxcar. I have hopes but I'm concerned about the couplers.
Outside of that I'm good. All my money is in Bowser for the next few months. Date: 11/07/12 12:29 Re: TrainFest 2012 New Product Announcements Author: icancmp193 Maybe that non-db SD39 I've been hoping for.....

DCC sound for air brakes, coupling, and realistic "thump" when hitting frogs and diamonds. Maybe even MTH's DCC uncoupler. But, to earn the NMRA football, it'll have S-scale coupler pockets, and fat code 110 wheels so the guys with 15" curves and #3 turnouts on their hollow core door layouts won't complain about how poorly a $100 freight car runs on their layout. (It should be obvious that the above is tongue-in-cheek. Well, except for the bit about having S-scale coupler pockets, and code 110 wheels...) Chinese drive, I'd keep going but I'm afraid I'll wake up. Date: 11/07/12 17:58 Re: TrainFest 2012 New Product Announcements Author: WAF More F units, lol
Date: 11/07/12 20:14 Re: TrainFest 2012 New Product Announcements Author: ssloansjca I am waiting for an A-B-B-A set Ingalls Shipbuilding Model 4S's in SP Daylight colors. Hmm, I wonder if that's what it is?

Come on SD40-2 and of course more F units. Kidding. Still waiting on an SDP40F. Oh, and the Phase Ia Amtrak scheme on the hi-levels. Yes, we're getting the bag/dorm correct, just need the rest of the set. Hadn't seen that since the 90's. Although I'm not quite sure what the point of one would be since everything is pre-order and limited run.

First six months of 2013 deliveries, not necessarily all new product announcements happening Jan-Jun 2013, is landing tomorrow at Trainfest. I will have a PDF available for download on Model Railroad News' website and assume Athearn will offer it too for download. There are new product announcements included, plus updated deliveries on previously announced items. I'm guessing they'll include the same pages we see for the monthly email announcements. The graphics in there are pretty clean and clear. I've also seen the pdf on the updated 2013 release schedule. A lot of items have a reduced price while a few went up in price. I assume these adjustments and updates are a result of Athearn finding a new home for producing the RTR stuff. Whether GP8, GP10, or GP11, I too would enjoy seeing this interesting prototype become a reality in HO-scale. Watch for news at 4 o'clock Central Time, as Trainfest opens. Who Knows?
