Model Railroading > Golden Gate Live Steamers-- 1948Date: 12/18/12 17:19 Golden Gate Live Steamers-- 1948 Author: KeyRouteKen Redwood Regional Park in Oakland, CA was the first outdoor track location for the Golden Gate Live Steamers. In 1948, the members built a 60-foot circle of track to run on.
A year later in 1949, some of the members broke open the circle and started building on up the line, to eventually give them a 1330-foot track to operate on. In more modern times, things have turned out a lot different at the club's Tilden Park location.
