Model Railroading > My Lucky DayDate: 03/14/13 12:57 My Lucky Day Author: SteamTrainJunkie I ordered a MTH SD70M-2 DCC ready in the EMD paint scheme from The Train Shop in Santa Clara, CA. last week.
When I went to pick it up today , Karen put it on the test track and when she powered it up it started making sound. So I got a sound unit for 139.00 + tax. The box even said DCC ready. Its to bad when the person who orders the sound unit will get the DCC ready version I was supposed to get. The store will lose money on the transaction, the employee will probably get chewed out.
Maybe you should considered returning the sound unit and helping the hobby shop. Date: 03/14/13 14:01 Re: My Lucky Day Author: bioyans atsf5701 Wrote:

If I am reading the original post correctly, it wasn't the hobby shop's mixup. It appears MTH put a sound equipped locomotive into a "DCC Ready" box at the factory.
