Model Railroading > Preserving the SP in HO scale: Fan TripsDate: 08/29/14 09:22 Preserving the SP in HO scale: Fan Trips Author: P5r24 Inspired by TO member TTM's posting:
http://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?11,3506710 Today they ran a four car Fan trip over the hill with long hood forwards Baldwin AS616 #5203 as back up helper and veteren Ten Wheeler #690 as road engine in charge of the train. Views one & two: The Special eastbound charging up the grade on main #2. Just up ahead the train stopped to remove the 5203 from the point. View three: shortly after the 690 does a photo run by at the water tank doing a blurry at 45MPH! Edited 3 time(s). Last edit at 08/29/14 09:29 by P5r24. Date: 08/29/14 09:23 Re: Preserving the SP in HO scale: Fan Trips Author: P5r24 views four & five:
After running through the X-overs and one reverse move granted by the DS, the 5203 is seen tucked away on the house track lead as the extra 690 east gets under way solo after a brief station stop at Summit. No argument here: Actually the RPO was the most popular car on the Special. Unfortunately it was all 6 doors closed while they were on the move for the usual safety reasons. Gary |
