The Quisling Commute - 1954
Author: bxmoore

Here's a few snaps taken on the street-running part of my module, with 1954-era stock and vehicles.

The commute coaches are modified BB Athearn.

Thanks for looking.

It is also a lesser-known fact that Miles Davis and Zoot Sims had a residency at The Blue Diamond in Quisling through the August of 1954.

Brian, have you considered placing a mirror at the end of the street to give the scene more depth?

Warren, the board is the end one of a 24' module and is usually connected to other boards at the monthly club meet.  Good idea for taking still pics at home next time,'tho.

Did the highway flashers blink at the 50 mph "rate" in those days?  (LOL)

As Deirdre Quisling-Romar, the Mayor of Quisling will tell you, it's the name their settlement's been called for nearly two centuries, and long before the Second World War.  When asked for about the thousandth time in a recent interview in the Quisling Star-Telegram, she fulminated: "No! We're not changing the name just because of one lousy Nazi Norwegian".

Sorted.

I have to admit, I am pretty rusty on my European history - most of it was with Ms Kendall back in the 10th grade in High School around 1974 or 1975.  Now I know Brit's not only have a stiff upper lip but a tongue firmly in cheek!

Good job from across the pond!
