Model Railroading > Boeing fuselage shipments, before shrink wrapDate: 12/11/16 08:44 Boeing fuselage shipments, before shrink wrap Author: march_hare Somebody was looking for Boeing shipment photos a couple weeks ago. Just found this one in the trade box. No date or location given, but it appears to be around Hauser ID on a summer trip to the NMRA convention in Seattle, which would make it July 2004.

I was looking for the pre-2000 shipments where the nose and tail sections were shipped in wraps on 60' flatcars with dual brush guards. Like this photo below.

I missed your prior request. Here's a nose section at Laurel Montana on 8-21-1991. Hope this helps. Don Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 12/11/16 13:35 by west. These were a little more rare as tthere are a total of 1050 757's built vs.over 9500 737's delivered and close to 5000 more on order. I always thought the 757 was the most graceful looking airliner that Boeing ever built.

Date: 12/11/16 17:23 Re: Boeing fuselage shipments, before shrink wrap Author: pmack In case it got missed in the last post about the Boeings, Andrew Klamka has a trio of books about shipping planes on trains. The post-WW2 to modern is in volume three.
The page here is for Volume 2 but the ordering info is the same for volume 3, 500 plus pages of airplane on train interestingness. https://issuu.com/mennonitepressinc./docs/shipping_planes_on_trains Date: 12/11/16 20:19 Re: Boeing fuselage shipments, before shrink wrap Author: funnelfan That photo is a huge help, exactly the car I wanted to model.

Glad to help ! You post a lot of great proto and model stuff for us all, keeping us inspired. Don Date: 12/12/16 14:20 Re: Boeing fuselage shipments, before shrink wrap Author: 3rdswitch Hopefully minus the "bad order" tags ;-)
JB Date: 12/12/16 14:41 Re: Boeing fuselage shipments, before shrink wrap Author: dan liked the 757, with it's ground clearance, also liked the stretched dc-8
