Model Railroading > Scale Trains SD40-2 sound fileDate: 02/12/18 17:16 Scale Trains SD40-2 sound file Author: Chad I picked up my two ATSF ST SD40-2's Rivet Counter with sound last Friday. Really, really nice and the running is super smooth. But I noticed something while they idled I have never heard or at least paid attention to. The prime mover idle RPM seems to change. I have attached a video. Is this new or have I had my head in the sand? Don't get me wrong I like it, it's pretty cool.

Bob Date: 02/13/18 15:14 Re: Scale Trains SD40-2 sound file Author: globalethanol the Bowser SD40-2F "redbarn" does the same. it may be something to do with a later phase SD40-2 having an exhaust silencer. I noticed that ESU Loksound has a new file for an EMD 645E "silenced". they sound fantastic!

Dang, been a while since I ran a SD40-2:) had to think about that. |
