New InterMountain HO Coil Cars
Author: railwaybaron

InterMountain has just announced new coil cars in MKT and MoPac "Screaming Eagle" schemes. Does anyone know if these cars would have been seen at the CF&I mill in Pueblo, CO, on the D&RGW? Thanks!

I've never seen an MKT car like they show.

Here is the car, the hoods are a little different but the paint scheme is the same. I would certainly have no problem running the IM car if I were an MKT fan.

These are fiberglass replacement hoods made by Proform. They replaced worn out or damaged steel hoods and were lighter.
Many railroads had them with the most common being DT&I and Chessie. Others were NW, MP, MKT, GT(ex DT&I), and others I can't remember right now. There was a variation of the hood that was owned by DT&I and IC.

Who was the coil shipper on MKT? Can’t think of any producers on line. Was it a pool agreement?
