Model Railroading > 'What if' DME thoughts?

Changing directions from what I usually model (SP/SSW/KCS), to do a couple models for a friend. The GP40 will be DME 4006 (ex DRGW 3052), and the right will be a 'what if' DME SD70ACE in a 7000 number series. Paint is Trucolor. I am posting to get your thoughts on the lightning stripe, and NS style yellow headlight brow. What do y'all think? Once more details are on and painted, and the decals are on I think it will look pretty awesome. Any feedback? I am a big boy, I can take honest criticism...

As well as giving it a little more pzazz, the lightning stripe was almost a necessity to work around the radiators . Please post your finished product..it has lots of potential!

Not sure the yellow brow works, but the idea of a DM&E SD70ACe is neat... Gives one an idea of what their railroad would look like had they actually made it into the Powder River...

I too will be interested in seeing the finished product... Nice work so far...

They would be better off with GE.

Hope you will use decal stripes to separate the blue and gold as that gives a sharp change.

Not keen on the brow, but the stripe looks good.

Looks like a cross between NS and MBTA paint, but with different colors. It does look good though.

I’m usually not a fan of fantasy schemes but that 70 looks sharp!!!!

While the yellow brow is a bit jarring, I suspect the prototype would have done so for visibility, it works for me!

Not to hijack this thread,but i have 2 DME boxcars on my layout. 1 is an ex Southern waffle side car and the other is a 50ft double door green boxcar that restenciled DME. Does anybody know what DME may have hauled in these cars ?

Oh, forgot to ask... Who made both of those models? I'm guessing Atlas for the GP40 and Athearn for the ACe?
