Model Railroading > New Athearn Genesis Trinity cars

I picked up a few of the new cars. Most of the originally announced road names are out now. I see these cars almost daily on my local CSX main, so I needed a couple. The cars are beautiful and I received a good price on them. I think LBF should have shipped their roads in quantity to beat Athearn to market. It would of been paid off for them. Here are 4 of the roads I acquired.

PS - I am experiencing no coupler problems with these cars so far. They are in long and heavy trains. The proper test.

Those are definitely sweet lookin\' cars! I will be waiting for the Farmland ones myself. As for the LBFs, the LBFs certainly are their best car so far, but the Athearns are my preference.

Others may of course differ! (that\'s the marketplace! =)

(no.. I\'m not trying to start any flame wars here! =) Just have fun and buy what ya want! =)

Wow, those are nice! Now that I\'ve got my 2 AGP cars, I can concentrate on getting some of those CSX ones and the Cargil ones. I just hope Athearn releases un-numbered cars, so I don\'t have to try and remove the number myself, I\'d hate to mar that beautiful finish!

Well gee.. I should have put a disclaimer on my bit o\' advice!! =)

My "wants" on plastic diesels mirror yours for the most part..

1) SD45T-2
2) GE B23/30/36-7 (yeah.. OMI is doin it..) lotsa wheelbase diffs here too.
3) C636
4) U50 (eight axle version!)
5) RSD15 lonose!
6) DASH8-40C and her totally different sister- DASH8-40CW
7) C415 - well, OMI will be doing it, but for $$$$$$$$$. a plastic version would be very tough for a manu. to do economically.. too many versions, cab heights, truck differences, etc! and yep.. that AHM/IHC piece of junk wont do either!!

someday..someday.. maybe.

but for now.. I\'ll just enjoy what I have..

Is anyone painting these cars for ADM. They\'re the only prototypes I see on the UP although AGP and DME cars pass by too. I didn\'t know IC or CSX had these cars.
