A common request here
I am headed to Texas, Dallas - San Antonio - Austin, maybe Houston in April
All vacation time, the wife wants to see Texas
Some recommendations on clubs, layouts, and oppertunities thay could await me there would be appreciated.

Discount Model Trains in Addison (North Dallas) is an excellant brick and mortar. Clean, up to date large inventory, helpful staff, good parking. Worth checking out!

Discount Model Trains in Addison (Dallas area) is a must visit. 

There's a mid sized train show in New Braunfels, TX (between Austin and San Antonio) happening on April 13th and 14th. There's also a train show in Taylor, TX (north of Austin) on May 4th and 5th of this year.

My wife and I will be at New Braunfels show.  There is an excellent German restaurant called Alpine Haus we both enjoy there.  And an In n Out burger not too far away.. Great town.

Dallas downtown reunion square good safe place to railfan. lots of freight UP and DGNO and Amtrak plus DART light rail all right there and the reunion tower you can go in and see all the action from above.
