Pictures of the San Leandro Hitorical Railway Society

Hi Everybody. I took these pictures with my new camera phone. check it out

1. The end of MRL 250 double stack triversing the small helix approaching Antelope/Roseville.

2. The beginning of MRL 250 double stack starting to wrok hard up the 1.5-2% grade up the small helix. Power today consist of MRL SD40-2 250, UP SD90/43MAC 8177, CP SD90/43MAC 9122, and SP SD40-2 "Olympic" 7374.

3. The year is 1951 where big 2-8-8-2 cab-forwards ruled the rails over Donner Pass. Here we see 4274, pulling the Overland, crossing the brigde at Long Revine westbound.

4. ERA meets ERA as MRL 250 and SP 4372, a 4-8-2 Mountain type locomotive pulling a express mail train special, make a station stop at Antelope to make a crew changes and service to 4372.

5. Same shot, but standing on the platform of the cattle ranch loading facility just across the main line outside of the town of Antelope.

6. Here we see MRL 250 entering roseville at 15 mph. On the left, is the Roseville desiel facility the two track the go left are to the Roundhouse. In the center is Roseville depot and the big Helix to the Mountains/Donner Pass region. Underneath the helix is Dunsmiur Loop. To the right is Roseville yard and Ice House Facility. If you look carefully on the helix above MRL 250 you can see the swing helpers.

7. We see 4372 just exiting the snowsheds at Emigrant Gap.

8. The Express Mail Train Express makeing a station stop at Roseville and to pick up mail.

9. SP 4372 entering Antelope making a station stop. (Airial shot)

10. Again we see SP 4372 entering ANtelop making a station stop. (Ground level shot)

11. SP 4372 reaching her destination at Alemeda Mole. (Engineer/Student Memeber Robert Johnson in the background)

12. SP 4372 approaching Oleum westcound passing through the short rock tunnel.

13. The snowshed at Norden. Looking above from the west as we see the Number 2 in the foreground and the good old number 1 in the background.

14. Another shot of the snowsheds at Norden. A ground shot looking eastbound.

As they\'ve been taken with a camera-phone they at least show things - that sort of kit isn\'t really designed to do that sort of thing!

That\'s pretty good for a camera phone. Would like to see some regular camera pictures of the layout. Be sure to use a tripod and long depth of field setting. You have whet the appetite!
