I Have To Chose Between 2 Hobby Shops in Ontario, Canada.
Author: RRBMail

I have to make a one day foray into Ontario, Canada, from Buffalo, NY, for business this coming Saturday. I can only make time for one model train shop detour. Should I head East to George's Trains in Markham, or West to Otter Valley model train shop? Which do you TOs think is the better stocked shop for old, new and used HO ready-to-run rolling stock, especially Canadian roads?  Thanks in advance!

I've dealt with Otter Valley only once, but they stocked a few HO cars that were sold out and hard to find. Better prices than the crooks on eBay, and that's with international shipping to AZ. You get to go there in person!

You might also try Credit Valley Railway, which is on the way from Buffalo to Toronto.

You know, as a long time seller on eBay, I take exception to your remark.  We all run into good & bad folks in every aspect of life.  Same goes with sellers on eBay.  I would say that the vast majority of eBay model train sellers are fair, honest, polite and respectful.  If you have had bad experiences with eBay sellers, I’m sorry, but don’t paint us all as “crooks” with your overly broad brush.

Hello RRBaron,

I have dealt with both Otter Valley as well as with Credit Valley, given the distance mail order only though. Otter Valley seems to be stocked a little better. Prices might be a little better, too. Other than that they both seem to be ok to deal with.

Cheers

To see the opponent win of course! Out in Alberta it's not unheard of for Flames or Oilers fans to catch a flight to Phoenix to see their team play Arizona. Often times it's cheaper to do that, even with the flight, than to go to a home game. Of course Phoenix in February tends to be somewhat nicer weather than north of the 49th as well.
