Gondola Assortment
Author: Jimmies

I was asked by a TO member via PM if I would be able to post any pictures of some gondolas that I've done some weathering on.  Ex-Milwaukee Road, Ex-DT&I, inserts for empty gondola bottoms.  I'll add a few more photos to follow these 3.

That DT&I car is downright pitiful-----please take that as a compliment!

GONX, GONX, and just for some variety I'll include a flatcar as well.

Thanks very much for looking in.

Those all look excellent. How did you make the scrap load?

The scrap metal in my JSSX gondola is busheling from a milling machine, glued down to a piece of styrene that is cut to fit the gondola.  I made several of them, to fit any of the gondolas that leave the scrap metal yard. In the photo you can just see the end of the pile that I made for the scrap yard.  I also made a few loads of non-ferrous (aluminum) busheling as well.

The weathering is amazing and the loads make them really pleasing to the eye.  Beautiful work!
