Model Railroading > The Crew Of This Freshly Shopped SW1500 Is Thrilled!Date: 12/10/20 21:48 The Crew Of This Freshly Shopped SW1500 Is Thrilled! Author: ChrisCampi Not because this SP2467 Crud just got a bath, new power truck, plus new internals such as a Decoder Buddy, Tsunami 2, KA2, all new wiring, Scale Sound Systems speaker and LED's. That makes ME happy. No, their happy because last week they had a loaded tank car spread the rails here and they can see that the local Industrial Rails crew has been busy shoring things up!

I'm considering doing the same, not sure what the market for SP SW1500's is right now though.

All the hard intellectual work was done by JT at Scale Sound Systems. I just followed his great tutorial video on his website which made it pretty easy. I highly recommend checking it out. I've also completed the 2458 and MP15AC 2735 using the same method. Date: 12/11/20 08:47 Re: The Crew Of This Freshly Shopped SW1500 Is Thrilled! Author: ChrisCampi wingomann Wrote:

Did you have to paint the keep alive in the cab to so it would blend in or was there a cover?
Also, what is the switch you used there in the first photo? Date: 12/11/20 11:00 Re: The Crew Of This Freshly Shopped SW1500 Is Thrilled! Author: ChrisCampi Jim, no need to cover the keep alive as it completely disappears when installed in the cab. The control stand does need to be disassembled and moved back about 1mm to clear the cab tab when reinstalling. Other then that I just used a sharpy to add black vinyl to the chairs which are very visible.
The turnout is a Walters curved #7 I believe and I use these Bitter Creek Models ground throws for them. They work well. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 12/11/20 11:01 by ChrisCampi.
