The club's Arco gas station (HO scale kit by Summit Customcuts) is now complete and tentatively installed along the upper level of the club layout. The displayed gas prices are surprisingly close to what we're paying at the moment around So Cal as well.

Nice, except the gas price, I filled up this weekend for $2.19 in Ohio.

$1.96 in Columbus,Ohio. the line reminds me of the 70's

Yes they are. We use different gas then you guys in the east use. Different formulation to help control air pollution.

Arco had a real fancy engineering/exploration center in Dallas in the 80's-90's.
We did work on the fire sprinkler system there, and they paid top dollar for everything.

Petrol is $1.88 in my part of Texas, just filled up my diesel pick-up at $2.09

 

We Californians pay 76.7 cents in taxes on a gallon of gas.....18.4 cents federal, and 58.3 cents state.  I am paying $2.89 for a gallon of gas at Arco here in Modesto.

Those are good for California prices! :) Don’t miss that at all.

The Pacer at the pumps needs a new baby blue paintjob with flames.  Party on Wayne, party on Garth!

Beautiful model, however its too clean for California. Needs food wrappers in the gutter, maybe a few discarded lotto scratcher tickets, a fresh patch of paint on the wall covering some old graffiti, & maybe a pan handler lurking just around the corner from the door out of sight of the cashier.

Yep, here in the Midwest almost all stations have been selling E10 Gasohol (aka ethanol blends) for nearly 40 years. More recently E15 and E85 have been added at many stations. 
I was suprised that on my last trip to California none the stations had E10. E10 is supposed to burn cleaner than regular gasoline. I suppose that the logistic of shipping the E10 long distances from the corn belt comes into play. 
Here in my hometown of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, ADM has the largest dry grind ethanol operation in the country. It is rail served, of course.

Don't forget spilled food and drink stains, gum, and maybe some vomit. There need to some barrier posts at the corners of the dispenser islands. They probably should be bent and scraped. I'll second that about a panhandler or two, or three. They seem to prefer AMPMs.

Bob, I don't know the percentage, but we do use ethanol as an oxygenate.

California's had "up to" 10% Ethanol in the gasoline for many years. There's a "fine print" at most pumps saying so. I don't see the term "E10" in my area (San Francisco Bay Area).

I haven't kept track in recent years, but we've gotten plenty of unit Ethanol trains from the corn belt, which eventually ends up in local refineries.

I was in Dubuque, Iowa last October, and saw the varieties offered at a gas station, E10, E15, and E85. E15 (88 Octane) was $1.79 per gallon.  

I was paying $1.91 until recently when the stations went up to $2.15 out west in northern Virginia.
 

Arco takes credit cards now.
