Model Railroading > Rapido coming to the La Mesa club!Date: 03/10/23 11:45 Rapido coming to the La Mesa club! Author: rapidotrains Hi all,
Jordan, Jeremy and I will be doing a meet & greet at the La Mesa club at the San Diego Model Railroad Museum. We'll be bringing our first samples of the SP B70 boxcar (straight out of the molds!) as well as some production samples of the SP B50 boxcars. And other stuff too! The date is Wednesday, March 22nd. The time is 7 p.m. PDT. It is open to everyone and there is no charge. We hope to see you there! Thanks, Jason ![]() Date: 03/10/23 11:56 Re: Rapido coming to the La Mesa club! If all goes well we should have the first tooling samples in June with an order deadline sometime early fall. -Jordan Date: 03/10/23 13:48 Re: Rapido coming to the La Mesa club! Author: rapidotrains In other news, we forgot to mention that Rapido's California Connection, Craig Walker, is also coming to the club.
I think I have to buy him dinner to make up for that... - Jason Date: 03/10/23 13:52 Re: Rapido coming to the La Mesa club! Author: boejoe rapidotrains Wrote:

Dinner is good compensation. jb Date: 03/10/23 16:30 Re: Rapido coming to the La Mesa club! Author: railstiesballast Finally, the B50 cars! Good on you.
If you offered an unpainted one I would buy that also, to make an SPMW version. I hate the thought of painting over any of your work. Date: 03/11/23 11:41 Re: Rapido coming to the La Mesa club! Author: RAS La Mesa is the perfect place to show the first test shots of the B-70 cars! I sish I could make the trip down from Seattle, but work has other plans that week. I'll look forward to seeing more pics, as the images you showed in the newsletter looked pretty good! Safe to say this car is going to cost us Espee guys and gals a few bucks!

------------------------------------------------------- > Great layout to unveil a SP car. Please post > photos for those who can't make it. Thanks Right! Hard to beet this layout. :-) Date: 03/17/23 07:30 Re: Rapido coming to the La Mesa club! Author: SPDRGWfan Nice beet train. I used to see similar beet trains heading north from Davis California going past my housing division on their way north towards Woodland and Spreckles.
I'm very much looking forward to the Rapido B-70 series SSW/SP boxcars which were staples in the SP freight trains where I spent my teens and part of my twenties! Cheers, Jim Date: 03/20/23 16:37 Re: Rapido coming to the La Mesa club! Author: TomG Were the B70s even made when you were in your twenties? I was thinking wooden cars with arch bar trucks. *smile*
Tom Weaverville, CA Date: 03/20/23 17:40 Re: Rapido coming to the La Mesa club! Author: SPDRGWfan If archbar wooden boxcars were still in use in the mid late 70s the yes!
