Passenger Trains > American Orient Express Sold??

Hi All, I have read a few posts from a local yahoo site that the AOE
1) has been sold
2) will be repainted
3) will only operate in the west and Mexico in the future, thus get pictures now while it visits the east coast.
Can anyone confirm this or care to reflect??

I think your getting mixed up with the green excursion train, Cruise America I believe is what its called. It was sold, and the KCS bought it and is planning to run it in Mexico as the executive train for their subsidary TFM.

Yes, AOE has been up for sale for about two years. A buyer may be announced soon. Evidently, there's some delay in the new company/owner making their announcement. I imagine transactions like this get rather tricky, so we'll have to be patient.

Bert has the right idea. I'm glad he's "tuned in."

AOE has been sold, but I am not allowed to mention the buyer just yet... Stay tuned, however, as the announcement should be coming shortly.

I was recently informed by a member of our association that AOE has been sold. I heard the name of the new owner, but do not remember it.

AOE is in the process of selling cars that they do not need/want. It sounds like means cars they purchased for potential future use, but which have not been repaired and refurbished. I believe one of those cars is a (rusty) Milwaukee Road Superdome lounge car.
