As usual No. 3 makes his connection with 14! Hey it varies day in and day out, the thing I'm looking at is if they want Amtrak to be on time most of the time, they better change the through car with the Capitol and the Chief if they except No. 3 to leave on time if 29 is hours late!

I wouldn't count the trains within 10 minutes of their schedules in either direction to be anything but "on time". Amtrak's standard is even looser than that -- 30 minutes, I think.

Silver Meteor ar MIA 43 mins early (The two trains arrived within 22 mins. of each other)

Tonight's Capitol Ltd left CHI on time

And of course at the bottom...

All things considered, at 2 hours and 15 minutes late, I'd consider that "close enough to on time" for the Coast Starlight, so why am I complaining?

The eastbound Southwest Chief that arrived 1:39 late into Chicago today was the same one that had the bomb scare in Fullerton on Monday. I'm quite impressed that BNSF was able to allow the train to make up so much time.
