Date: 10/04/06 20:10 Re: Is there Amtrak in Hawaii and Alaska, Canada/Mexico Author: Pullman Of course there is. It's a secret.

No Amtrak service in Alaska, Hawaii or Mexico. You cna add to that Wyoming and South Dakota as having no service. Idaho has only 1 station at Sanpoint at the far north of the state. Amtrak does serve Vancouver BC, Montreal QC and Toranto ON in Canada. J. Date: 10/04/06 20:11 Re: Is there Amtrak in Hawaii and Alaska, Canada/Mexico Author: SPSF_luvr Whats u mean? What Secret

I hope there is, and nobody actually thinks there's really a trans-Pacific tube (especially with leaks!). :-) Date: 10/05/06 06:52 Re: Is there Amtrak in Hawaii and Alaska, Canada/Mexico Author: GBNorman Well, Mr. SPSF Lover, if you had not chosen to be a stand up comedian with your member profile, possibly the facetious responses made to your inquiry could have been avoided.

If you want to nitpick - as railfans love to do - Amtrak only "serves" Toronto in that they'll sell you a ticket to that destination. However, the Maple Leaf becomes a VIA Rail Canada operation at Niagara Falls, with the equipment for the through service provided by Amtrak. Similarly, the Toronto-Chicago International was a VIA operation north (east?) of the border before it was discontinued thanks to US Customs and Immigration. Dave Date: 10/05/06 09:43 Re: Is there Amtrak in Hawaii and Alaska, Canada/Mexico Author: toledopatch Based on the success of Canada's bridge to Prince Edward Island, the leaky tunnel to Hawaii will be replaced by a railroad bridge.
The Amtrak Tunnel to Mexico City, meanwhile, is closed because of its popularity with illegals. Date: 10/05/06 11:01 Re: Is there Amtrak in Hawaii and Alaska, Canada/Mexico Author: zephyr18 DavidP Wrote:

So Amtrak does indeed serve Canada. Date: 10/05/06 12:03 Re: Is there Amtrak in Hawaii and Alaska, Canada/Mexico Author: Bumping_Post Any chance for service to the Moon...
They could use a bustituion until the trackbed is finished.... It will probably be hard to keep that route in a "State Of Good Repair" with the politics and management of Amtrak. Maybe an influx of Alien intelligence can spark a rebirth at the railroad and this could be the start of a big turn-around? Didn't say anything about Seattle-Vancouver or New York-Montreal, which is also all-Amtrak, all-the-way. It is now a tourist operation.
