Passenger Trains > Possible Ace Train special in October with PV ???

While riding Ace from Stockton to San Jose last week, a crew member mentioned there will probably be a special train in October celebrating the 10th anniversary of service. The plan, according to him, is to run a consist with the Silver Lariat and Silver Solarium. Naturally, that would be quite a sight, running with those cars over Altamont Pass and through Niles Canyon. I haven't seen anything thus far to confirm or deny the rumor but if anyone has any information, I'd really appreciate hearing what you know.

Sounds like a neat idea, as long as they don't do it on the first train of the morning. The regulars wouldn't know where to sit, and at that time of the day (departs Stockton @ 0420) even a tiny change in routine can screw up your whole day.

It will most likely be on a weekend...

Will it be open to the public, or is this a PV ride for the ACE employees and the board?

This might have to do with the anniversary of the last CZ through this part of the woods.
