Passenger Trains > More Private Varnish on the Move

Private cars PENOBSCOT BAY, BIRKEN and MOUNT VERNON will operate from New Haven to New York on the rear of Amtrak train 67 on Saturday morning May 24th.

The cars are returning home to NJ after being used in the filming of movie scenes on the Naugatuck RR in CT. The trip required 6 railroads to move the cars in each direction: Morristown & Erie, New Jersey Transit, Amtrak, Metro North, Pan Am and Naugatuck.

Can the name of the movie be revealed at this juncture or is it a private filming?

I'm told the move will be titled "The Farlanders" ... dircted by Sam Mendes ... a movie website says "Maya Rudolph and John Krasinski star in this journey of a couple expecting a baby who now travel the U.S. in search of a place to lay down some roots and raise their family."
