Stuck in the Swamp: Commuting on NJ Transit
Author: Lackawanna484

The local website baristanet has been keeping track of the breakdowns and service failures on NJ Transit's orphaned Montclair Boonton Line. Lots of them. This morning's mess includes a broken down train, no announcements, and the usual "no answer" at NJ Transit's customer service phone line.

The "conductor Josh" mentioned here has created a real time delay notification system. You can log on from a cellphone or PC and check status of NJ Transit trains, DeCamp buses, local highway conditions, etc. Or, they'll text you with updates for your particular line. They usually have the delay info long before any of the "official' sources have them.
