the westbound California Zephyr was taken out of service during the breakfast period for the remainder of the journey to Emeryville. Don't know if special meal boxes were brought onboard for the Sleeping Car passengers. I had my (coach passenger) breakfast and lunch from the Superliner Lounge cafe. Edited 1 time(s). Under most circumstances, that would make a lot more sense.

Looking out the window of my room in the morning was our diner; set out in Idaho. Not a good sign. I bailed in Butte, Montana, stayed until the next train two days later. The thought of junk food all the way to Milwaukee due to no diner, was too much to bear.
