Appears it was northbound Cascades #506. Based on amtrak.com, it was scheduled to be in Tacoma at 2:49pm, but it is estimated to arrive around 5:10pm.

NB #516 is just arriving in Tacoma at 6:48 PM.

maybe they're disppointed ... was it a death wish for all 4 people ... i'd like to know the details of why they were still in the truck on the tracks with a fast train approaching

SB #509 just left Tacoma (about 7:15PM) nearly one hour late headed to Eugene. There was no cab-baggage end to the train. Power unit only.

I am on #509 right now approaching Kelso.. You have the AMTK #466 on the south end and the AMTK #14 on the north end.. Double power, wooohooo!!!! Gettty up horsy!!!!! SEA crew advised a 2140 hrs into PDX...

And return on #504 on time too? IIRC it was at 10:42 last Sunday morning that I just happened to look out the window and saw you pass through Aurora but I didn't hear any " — • • " on the whistle.

In regards to why they were stopped on the tracks, another news report says they pulled into the private crossing to turn around...so who knows. Probably all chatting it up and didn't look down the tracks, and that is a quiet crossing. Still VERY lucky.

Yeah, yeah.... When we left Seattle, I didn't notice any switching. When we started rolling, it was leaving King St. Guess they didn't need a pin uncoupling AMTK #14 at King St.

I was under the impression that we left with both units on the train.. Sorry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
