Goes to show that public transit is not a left & right-winged issue, at least not in Utah.
Seveal NJT cars still going strong at 42 years of age.

What are the ridership figures on regular days? Keep us posted. Thanks for the good pictures.

More accurate to say that it is accepted from center-right to the left. The far right is still unreconciled.

What a fantastic video, Chris!

Did you shoot it on a GoPro Wide?

Nice, comprehensive video.
Glad public is really responding.

Noticed that: FR Bombardier cars have no convenient overhead parcel shelves.
Their Comets and NM Rail Runners do.
IIRC, Northstar also runs shelf-less cars. One advantage--no head bumping.

Platform benches are glass-enclosed, per Utah weather?

Overall, FR looks like a well-built, well-run operation. Best of luck.

Chris,

Thanks for the great video; the alternative link was necessary for me. Trainorders videos cause my computer to skip or freeze up whereas those at "the other site" have a "change quality" setting that allows smooth playing of videos on older computers. Wish TO videos had that feature - not all of us have "warp speed" chips.

Changing the subject, do you know how long before the light rail line to the airport will be completed?

(p.s. great music, there too!)

The TRAX line to the Air Port is complete. They are currently training their operators on the line. Opening 17 APril 2013.

Excellent video Chris and the music made it even better.

Very nicely done!

We haven't even had a frosty morning yet in the Rogue Valley, with many of the flowers in the garden going into second and third bloom cycles. At least you are not being denied winter.

One concern I have is the narrow width on the passenger platform in front of the station. It is only a matter of time before someone gets knocked into an oncoming.

Excuse me for being the lone dissenter here. The video started and ended very nicely. However, all the ‘fisheye’ stuff just left me cold as did the music. I’m not an old grouch but this type of video just isn’t my “cup of tea”.
It’s nicely done but……….

I lived in the "Avenues" in Salt Lake in 1978-81while doing my doctoral work there and of all of the states in which I would least expect to see commuter rail running would be Utah. I am very pleased to see Front Runner up and going as acceptance of much needed commuter rail has crossed party lines finally. Also I was impressed by the variation in video technique used to show these trains pulling in and out and on the move. The soundtrack was as modern as these new trains and added to the video albeit not your usual railfan format. Thanks

Did NOT intend to offend you - sorry if I did, I apologize.
I was just expressing my thoughts.
