Here's hoping there were signs stating "Do not walk with your back
towards on coming trains while listening to your Walkman". If not,
I suppose Amtrak and the state could be liable. Come to think of
it - I wonder what company made the headphones?

My sympathies to the engineer and the passengers of the train.

Simple headline for this story should have been "Lucky Dumbass cheats death."

How many of the survivors of these stupid events ever get prosecuted? I don't think I have ever heard of a single example.

I seriously doubt that he was listening to a "Walkman" or that there are even any of those still around. The ridicule from his friends would be more injurious than getting Am-whacked!
